Harbor Country includes the towns of Grand Beach, Michiana, New Buffalo, Three Oaks, Union Pier, Lakeside, Harbert and Sawyer. Michigan's Great Southwest includes the counties of Berrien and Van Buren. Below is a list of favorites and recommendations of the Lakeside Inn and Gordon Beach Inn.

• Warren Woods State Preserve, nature preserve located on Warren Woods Rd and 3 miles from the inn. Perfect for afternoon walks and trail hiking.

• Warren Dunes State Park, located in Sawyer on Red Arrow Highway, features an extensive beach, campground areas, and park programs year round. Home to the best sand dunes and "Tower Hill." 269-426-4013

• Dunes Antique Center, located on Red Arrow Highway in Sawyer. Dunes is the largest antique shop in Harbor Country. 269-426-4043

Local Media:

• Harbor Country News, published weekly on Thursdays and is available at most businesses for free throughout Harbor Country.

• South County Gazette, published weekly on Mondays and is also available for free at most businesses throughout Harbor Country.

• The News-Dispatch, published in Michigan City, Indiana. This paper is available daily for .50 cents and $1.00 on Sundays, at most groceries, deli's and pharmacies.

• The Herald-Palladium, published in St. Joseph, Michigan. This paper covers the entire area of "Michigan's Great Southwest" and is available daily for .50 cents and for $1.00 on Sundays. It can be found at most groceries, deli's and pharmacies.

• The Beacher, published in Michigan City, Indiana. This newsletter comes weekly to most Harbor Country businesses and focuses on area activities as well as area businesses.

• Television Stations: Most television stations that are available in Chicago are available in the Harbor Country area as well. This includes WBBM (CBS 2), WMAQ (NBC 5), WLS (ABC 7), WGN (CW 9), WTTW (PBS 11), WCIU (26), WFLD (FOX 32), and WPWR (MY 50). Local stations include South Bend and Elkhart, Indiana affiliates, such as WNDU (NBC 16), WSBT (CBS 22), WSJM (FOX 28), WNIT (PBS 34), and WBND (ABC 57).

• Radio Stations: Most radio stations that are available in Chicago are available in the Harbor Country area as well. Some of these stations include WGN-AM 720, ESPN Radio AM 1000, The Loop, The Drive, WCKG, The Mix, WNUA 95.5, and many others. Local stations from South Bend include 95.3 WAOR (Rock), U93 WNDV (Top 40), Sunny 101.5 (Adult Contemp), and Oldies 94.3 (Oldies).
